Bob Mayers

Owner, Project Principal

Bob’s 40 years of experience includes an engineering background, having managed large commercial construction projects in Chicago, Illinois, and San Francisco California prior to joining Adroit 37 years ago. Bob is responsible for directing the firm’s pre-construction activities, supervising project managers and estimators, and managing client relations. His open door policy fosters strong business and employee relationships. Bob’s leadership has been integral to Adroit’s steady growth and continued success.

For his community involvement, construction industry service, and outstanding business practices, Bob was honored by Rotary International as Outstanding Business Person of the Year. He has served on the boards for the Southern Oregon University Raider Athletic Association, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Ashland YMCA, the Ashland Rotary Club, and Ashland Chamber of Commerce. He likes to be involved. He currently serves on the boards of Peoples Bank of Commerce in Medford, the Mt. Ashland Association, the Southern Oregon University Foundation and Oregon-Columbia Chapter of the Associated General Contractor’s Association.

Steve Lawrence

Owner, Project Principal

Involved in all facets of the industry, Steve’s 38 years of experience include everything from remodeling to major commercial construction. A native Oregonian and original co-owner of Adroit since its inception in 1979, Steve’s comprehensive expertise extends throughout the management of all construction operations. His attention to detailed communication between the client, architect, and subcontractors has built a legacy of successful projects. During construction, as lead project manager, Steve dedicates himself to ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and efficiency. He is also responsible for field operations and crew scheduling to maintain safe and productive jobsites.

When he’s not in a hard hat, you’ll see Steve wearing a cowboy hat. He’s an active member of the Northwest Cutting Horse Association, Oregon Cutting Horse Association, and National Cutting Horse Association. (This helps him handle his crews!) Steve may love horses, but he also stays active in the community. He currently serves on the board for the Mt. Ashland Racing Association (an advanced youth skiing group).

Jason Stranberg

Owner, President, Project Manager

Jason excels at cultivating cooperation, even in the most challenging situations. His diverse experience includes project management on a $50 million project in Portland and dozens of projects for Adroit as project estimator and manager. With a Construction Engineering Management degree from Oregon State University, he leverages his competitive energy and decade of experience to deliver consistently solid results. He has earned praise from owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Since coming to Adroit ten years ago, Jason has been the primary manager and estimator on many projects with highly technical geographic locations and detailed phasing plans. If that’s not enough, Jason is also a member of The American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE), and has completed the Healthcare Construction Certification Program. He has managed many successful projects for Asante Health System. For every project, Jason motivates a cooperative spirit to optimize budgeting, constructability planning, and on-time project delivery.

Tom Walker

Owner, CEO, Project Manager

Precision! That describes Tom’s approach in one word. He knows how to adapt and maximize opportunities. He benefits from discipline and training gained while serving in the United States Air Force as a Civil Engineering Officer and Project Manager. He has worked on projects from Europe to Asia and throughout the United States. Tom is a 1995 graduate of the USAF Academy, where he earned his B. S. in Civil Engineering. Tom holds an M. S. in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Tom is also a licensed Civil Engineer and is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited for green building design/construction. Prior to Adroit, Tom managed several large projects for a Pittsburgh general contractor, including one portion of a $600 million power plant.

Tom serves as a single point of contact for the owner throughout the project. While his expertise is versatile, he specializes in Design-Build and has delivered a variety of projects, from medical facilities to food service. His experience working with municipalities, design professionals, and subcontractors is evident in every project he manages. It must be the military discipline, because he never stops learning, adapting, and improving his considerable skills.
